IMPLEMENTATION OF MORAL VALUES IN STRENGTHENING RELIGIOUS MODERATION

Abstrak

This study aims to analyze the implementation of moral values in strengthening religious moderation at SMK Al-Munawaroh Tasikmalaya. The background of this research is based on the importance of instilling moral values as a foundation for forming a religious attitude that is moderate, tolerant, and inclusive in the midst of diversity. Schools as educational institutions have a strategic role in instilling these values through various learning activities and habituation practices.

This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects included the principal, Islamic Religious Education teachers, and students.

The results show that the implementation of moral values at SMK Al-Munawaroh Tasikmalaya is carried out through habituation of religious behavior, religious activities, teacher role modeling, and integration into the learning process. The moral values developed include tolerance, mutual respect, honesty, justice, and balanced religious attitudes. This implementation has a positive impact on strengthening students’ religious moderation, which is reflected in behaviors such as respecting differences, avoiding extremism, and being able to build harmonious social relationships.

Supporting factors in this implementation include the commitment of all school members, a religious and conducive environment, and school policies that support religious activities. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include external environmental influences, uncontrolled technological development, and differences in students’ backgrounds. Therefore, the implementation of moral values at SMK Al-Munawaroh Tasikmalaya plays an important role in strengthening religious moderation and needs to be carried out consistently and continuously.
