INTERNALIZATION OF SUFI VALUES IN BUILDING RELIGIOUS MODERATION AT CIPASUNG UNIVERSITY, TASIKMALAYA

Abstrak

This study aims to analyze the process of internalizing Sufi values in fostering religious moderation, as well as its implications for individual attitudes and behavior in social life. Sufi values such as tawasuth (middle stance), tasamuh (tolerance), tawazun (balance), and i'tidal (justice) are believed to play a significant role in shaping an inclusive and harmonious religious character. This study employed a qualitative approach with descriptive methods, using data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects included educators and students involved in a religious values-based learning process. The results indicate that the internalization of Sufi values is achieved through various strategies, such as habituating worship, exemplary lecturers, integration into learning, and religious activities that emphasize strengthening spirituality and morals. This process has been proven to foster an attitude of religious moderation, reflected in behaviors that demonstrate mutual respect, appreciate differences, and uphold humanitarian values. Furthermore, a conducive environment and an inclusive religious culture contribute to the successful internalization of these values. Internalization of Sufi values plays a strategic role in fostering religious moderation, particularly in the context of education. This study recommends strengthening Sufi value-based educational programs as a preventative measure against intolerance and radicalism, as well as a foundation for building a peaceful and civilized society.
